Hi. I am Jennifer Marshall Jenkinson, chairman of the UK Microwave Technology Association and author of the prize winning cookbook, Microwave Magic: The Art of the 21st Century Cooking. There are three important things to think about when choosing a microwave oven.
First of all, how much money you want to spend, second how much space you have in your kitchen, and third what you want to use your oven for. Before you can even think about choosing a microwave oven, you need to know how much money you would want to spend, because like any product you buy these days you can spend as little as thirty pounds on a microwave or over a thousand pounds. It really is a case of your money and your choice.
The quality of the oven you buy is totally dependent on the money you actually pay for the oven. The last thing you have to think about is the space you have available in your kitchen. But whatever space you have, you need to sight the oven in a very convenient place so it is easily accessible because if it is not accessible it will not be used and that is a tremendous waste.
So now, let's have a look at some of the ovens I have here a variety of stand alone ovens that are suitable to be placed on your work top. I have two more compact ovens here, these two ovens are made by Breville. This is actually a Lovely oven.
It's a really small compact size but has all the facilities of a normal oven so you can use conventional heat in the oven, you can grill, you can microwave, or use a combination of all three. It is a small oven so just imagine how much energy you are saving if you wanted to roast a chicken in this oven in comparison to heating up all the space in your large oven. A Lovely oven retails for approximately one hundred pounds.
The last oven here is a standalone oven, a microwave only, a very small compact oven. Great for students in their homes, great for mobile homes, easy to use, and easy to clean. So there is no excuse students if you are bringing the oven home, always bring it home clean.
And this oven retails for approximately fifty pounds so it is a very good valued oven.
