Northwoods Gourmet: Fruit Salad
The Northwoods Gourmet Bob Wershmeyer shares his classic recipe for a tropical favorite: Bahama Bob's Island Fruit Salad.
Step 1: Fruit Salad Introduction
Hey there folks and welcome to the Northwoods Gourmet, I'm Bob Worshmire. Now you're probably wondering why I have these fancy flowers around the old headstand there, that's because today we are making a taste of the tropical isles. A humdinger of a dish I like to call, "Bahama Bob's Island Fruit Salad", you bet. Now I first made this dish for Maryanne on our honeymoon, oh yes, mackinaw in March is quite the hot spot if you
catch my drift fellows
Step 2: Ingredients
Now for this dish you are going to want to get two to three cans of pineapples, one can of mandarin oranges, one cup of raisins, couple of pounds of mini colored marshmallows for that tropical flare and about 22 ounces of cool whip. That will help it keep fresh in the fridge for a couple of months.
Step 3: Mix
OK, now these days I like to make "Bahama Bob's Tropical Fruit Salad" whenever Maryanne needs a bit of a pick me up, she's been kind of grumpy lately. I think her lady parts are still sickened up by the cat we got for the kids. OK, now once you get all your cans opened and the fruit drained just mix it all up together there in a bowl. Of course, you can still make the original Mackinaw version; just add about 8 pounds of fudge.
Step 4: Pour Over The Beer Batter
OK, now once you have all the fruit in the bowl there you are going to want to pour the beer batter right over the top and then drop it in the fryer. And there we go, just top her off with another dab there, doesn't get more tropical than that, "Bahama Bob's Tropical Fruit Salad".
