Office Live Small Business - Email
Here is a short webcast showing how to set up email with the Microsoft Office Live Small Business service.

Step 1:

Signing In

Now we’re going to go in and look at how easy it is to set up email accounts in Office Live.
So first of all we log back into our accounts, we go to OfficeLive.co.uk. And then click the ‘Sign in’ tab at the top right-hand side of the page.
Now we need to sign back in with the original user name and password that I signed up for in the first place. That was info@officeliveuk.co.uk and then the password. So we sign in, then that takes us back in to the member’s centre where we were previously.

Aim Of The Session

Now I’m going to do a couple of things in this session.
First of all just look at starting up the email, then going into the email for the first time, and thirdly adding another user to the email account.
So our initial email address is info@officeliveuk.co.uk, let’s go and have a look at that so I’ll just open that in another window for simplicity.

Anti-Spamming Procedures

As this is the first time we’ve opened up the email account, we need to go through these anti-spamming procedures here. Something we’ve done with Office Live mail to make it less likely to get spam into your inbox. It’s very important to people these days.
So I just type in those characters. R, D, H, 2, N, N, 5, D. And if you can’t read for any reason you can just click on the little button there to play the audio, play the numbers back to you.

Step 4:

First Time In Your Account

So we’ll click ‘continue’ now. It goes off and enters that into the database, and there we go straight into our email account. If we just go in there and look at the email we got; a lot of welcome messages and that sort of thing, and also details of the domain name that we have.
So that’s the email account so you can now start going in, create a new email from info@officeliveuk.co.uk or whatever it is that’s appropriate you want to do. So that was the first time we’ve looked at the email accounts, let’s now go in and look at the account settings and see about setting up a new email account.

Account Settings

So we go, ‘account settings’, and then to ‘email accounts’. And you can see that we have our existing email account here, info@officeliveuk.co.uk, it tells you the storage, what type of account it is, any options you might have to reset the password; that sort of thing.
But then also you’ve got the ability to create a new email account.

Step 6:

Setting Up New Email Addresses

So now I’ll just click on ‘create new email account’. And let’s just say I want to set one up for myself, Tim. Put in a password, confirm that, put in name, country, and there we go. And that is now done!
That new email mail box is being set up, so that’ll be tim@officeliveuk.co.uk and I can go on creating those new email accounts for the number that I need.
So there we go, let’s click finish. That should then refresh. There you go, there is another email account; tim@officeliveuk.co.uk and you see I have the same details, but with this one because it’s not the administrator account I can actually delete this one in future should I not want to use it.
That was just a very quick run through of just how easy it is to set up your Office Live Email.
