Paintball Safety - Markers

How to handle your paint ball gun the right way and not getting hurt.
-
Step 1:
-
Paintball Safety Briefing
-
Paintball: It's fast, it's extreme, and most of all it's fun. Now, like all sports, informed players make the game safer. In fact, with paintball, safety is one of the most important parts of the game. In this series we aim to give you some tips to make the game safer and more enjoyable. Aloha, I'm Russ in Hawaii, and welcome to the PaintBallGuns808 mission briefing.
-
Step 2:
-
Marker Handling
-
Now, today our discussion is general marker handling. Paintball guns and markers are not toys. They can break small bones, like those in your hand, rupture ear drums, completely destroy an eye, and I don't need to describe to you guys out there what can happen with a 68 caliber paintball moving at 280 feet per second if you aren't wearing your cup.
-
Step 3:
-
Marker Introduction
-
Now this is a Tipman 85. The 85 is a great high mid-level marker, that can grow with you as you grow as a player. It can hang with the big dogs right out of the box and with a few accessories you can make a top notch paintball gun.
Well, whatever marker you buy, make sure you read and follow the directions for use and maintenance in the manual that comes with it. And remember, always treat paintball markers with the same respect that should be shown to real firearms. If the safety's red, whoever is ahead could end up dead.
-
Step 4:
-
Hazards
-
You also have the added hazards of compressed gasses. Always stay focused on what you are doing when attaching or removing the tank from your gun. This is a CO2 tank, 20 ounces, it's under a lot of pressure. Many people use oxygen, those tanks run 40, 50, 60 cubic inches, with 3,000, 4,500 pounds per square inch in them. They can really do damage if you're not paying attention when you attach or remove that tank from your gun.
-
Step 5:
-
Gun Barrel
-
Keep your barrel plugged or keep your barrel blocked with a plug or a bag to protect bystanders from accidental discharge. I use the bag. These are secured by an elastic cord, holds them in place. Many players use a plug, it inserts into the barrel, but be careful with the plug, a couple of shots can dislodge it and create a really unsafe condition.
Well that ends our mission briefing for today. Remember: Stay safe, check us out on the web at paintballguns808.com and aloha.
