Pets Have Personality

In this film, pets’ feelings are discussed. Can dogs be agreeable? Do they feel bad when they’ve done something wrong? Do they miss people? Dog trainer Babette Haggarty talks about dogs and their emotions. When a Jack Russel Terrier messes up the house, can that be classified as neurotic behavior? People often choose their pets based on whether or not their personalities are similar. If both are say, agreeable, then living together will be that much easier. Mitch Wilder, a pet specialist, will talk about his dog and research that has been done in this fascinating subject.

Step 1:

Personality

You don't have to be an animal expert to know that pets have personalities.

The only thing that Grady and I have in common is that he's really smart and so am I.

If you're the owner of a persistent poodle or precocious Pomeranian, you probably already know this.

Personality-wise? We're both fun to be with.

Step 2:

Pet's Traits

Bud's personality, he's a lot like me. We both love pets and people, but we also love our own space and don't like to be crowded. I guess he's a little bit reclusive, just like me. Right, Bud?

But new research is showing that the man's best friend could have a lot more in common with man's personality than we ever thought possible?

The average owner does not realize the emotions that dogs carry, and how much more connected to their owner they really are.

Step 3:

Psychological Study

A new study by three prominent psychologists is showing that dogs can possess personality traits like agreeableness, openness, and even neurotic behavior. The study found that some pets can actually exhibit a degree of self-consciousness. That means that your dog could be aware of his own actions. Remember that the next time he messes up the apartment.

I think probably the average dog owner doesn't realize that dogs an be sad, dogs can annoy people, animals, or friends.

The research also shows that dogs could have the same range of emotions that humans have. The only difference is their ability to let us know what they're feeling. If only we could talk to the animals.
