Pilates: Saw
The Saw, another great Pilates manoeuvre, improves the mobility in your lower back, increases the flexibility in the legs, and enhances your coordination. So watch VideoJug's guide on how to carry out this great exercise today.
Step 1: To prepare
Sit down on your mat with your legs in front of you at slightly more than hip distance apart and your feet flexed back.
Place your arms out to either side with your palms facing forward.
If you feel any strain in your lower back or legs in this position then sit on a small support.
Step 2: The exercise
Inhale and rotate your torso to one side, exhale lengthen forwards from the base of the spine as if you were going to saw off your little toe, inhale articulate back up through the spine keeping the rotation and exhale to return to the centre.
Inhale rotate to the other side, exhale lengthen forwards, inhale articulate back up and exhale to return to the centre.
Repeat this 6 times - 3 to each side and then relax your arms back down to finish.
