Debbie Timmins from the Average Gamer shares some quick tips and tricks for choosing a football player and improving your game on the console version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 is the latest in the big series of Pro Evolution software football sims. When it comes to tips, back to basics, don't sprint. You're better off passing the ball rather than running around like a loony.
Don't be afraid to pass backwards either. In fact, just go for the easy passes. If you can choose between passing a short 15-yard thing with nobody marking or passing 30 yards but there's a chance you might lose it, go for the short pass.
It's better to have a ball than lose it. One of the modes Pro Evo soccer has is "Become a Legend". That's where you get one player and you train them up to become a football legend.
When you first get your player, you can choose one of seven modes: finisher, creative midfielder, dribbler, shooting star, heavy tank or the human dynamo. Each of those is best off with a different specialty. So your finishers are, you're better off specializing in shooting.
Your midfielders, you're better off at passing. Dribbling, obviously as a dribbler. Shooting star has good speed, heavy tank has good power, and the human dynamo you should stick with stamina.
One thing you should really know is you can train up all the other skills but you can't really train up speed. You're better off starting with someone who has good speed to begin with. It's just not going to get any better.
Probably the best way for a beginner to get really, learn how to play football sims is to start off playing a good team. Find someone like Barcelona. Play them against a really crap team (offline, obviously).
What you want to do is just get used to how the passing and how the sticks handle and make sure you really have your own controller skills up to scratch. Those are just some quick tips to get you started with Pro Evo Soccer 2011. I've been Debbie from The Average Gamer.
