Meat balls in tomato sauce is a classic Italian meal. Now, this one is so easy to do and is really, really low in fat as well. To the pan, just add in some low-calorie cooking spray. And we are just going to fry gently our chopped onions and a clove of chopped garlic, which is the basis of any great Italian meal. So I let them soften in the pan for a couple of minutes. The onions and garlic are cooked under a bit now, just to take the rawness and harshness of garlic. Now, we are going to add the rest of our ingredients. So I have got some chopped tomatoes which I will add into the pan. I have got some tomato puree and also add a teaspoon of sugar. But it is optional. But what it does, as the tomato is cooked, it becomes really acidic, so this really brings out the sweetness in the dish. Now I am going to add half a stock cube, just crumbled to add some really nice background flavor. Give that a quick stir and let that simmer for eight to ten minutes. Now, we are going to add our quorn balls to the sauce. Using these quorn balls gets some healthy proteins within your meal. Let that simmer for five minutes. And we will finish it off with some beautiful fresh basil. These are cooked, done beautifully now. To finish this dish off, some lovely black pepper. And some beautiful fresh basil leaves. Smells absolutely amazing. Just tear them up, get them in the dish and that really adds another dimension. Get that stirred through. So now, that is done. And for me, that was so easy, there is no better way than serving on some fresh pasta. And the finishing touch for me is to grate in some lovely cheese and there we go. As simple and easy as that.
