Richard Ashforth's Tip: How To Use Hair Straighteners

Richard Ashforth

We show you how to straighten hair using straightening irons. Richard Ashforth is the International Creative Director from top hairdressing company, Saco. Having first risen to the top as Creative Director of Vidal Sasoon, Richard has worked with the biggest names in fashion including Galliano, Westwood and Hermes.

Step 1:

Apply product to protect hair

Apply a silicone based shining product evenly through the mid-lengths and ends. This will help protect the hair from the heat and give a shiny finish.

Step 2:

Section Hair

Separate hair into sections. Always start with sections underneath so you're not placing finished hair on top of unfinished hair.

Step 3:

Use straightening irons

Use straightening irons to push comb through hair from root to tip.

This guy is straightening someone's hair which is already straight. Sure it's easy to straighten hair that's already straight but what if you have really wavy/frizzy hair??? How do you straighten that?

it's easy nuff to do it on someone else's hair - but when do it on my long hair i have to bring it to the front first coz i don't have mile-long arms, unfortunately. but when i bring it back it flicks up on the right side and curls in on the left! no matter what i do.

Wow, the peole yammering about "how rich they are" can have fun with that. If you spend your money on things that count like my sport (horseback-riding), you would be much happyer. Plus, I'm sure they really have "they're own hair stylists". If they did, why would they be watching they video?

I have a HairArt flat iron, it works wonders, but if I set it on a normal temp. it won't do those wonders.. unless I use 410°, I consider that's waaaay to much heat, but helps me finish quicker and leaves my hair super straight and smooth.. ( unfortunately that was only the 1st time I dared to use that temp ) ever after, 410° is just NOT enough... I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, the outer layers of hair are very puffy, straight but puffy :( Any recs? PLEASE!!
