Singing: Applying The 10 Min Routine
www.omegabone.com A short video to demonstrate the basics of singing and how to properly prepare your voice. A simple ten minute routine to activate your vocla chords.
Step 1: Introduction
You should warm up your voice every time you sing. In this video I'll be giving you a 10 minute routine.
Step 2: Song Syllables
Now, you can use any of these syllables on any of your songs. So, if you are having a particular problem with a phrase in a song, and if you feel like it's not bright enough or if you feel like it's too bright. If it's too bright, you might want to use the lower range; exercise with the "y" and the "e".
Step 3: Voice Too Dark
If you think it's too dark and you want to make it brighter, you might want to use the exercise number four with the coo; like Dance Of The Robe from Aida... from Disney's Aida.
Step 4: Song Completion
The climax of the song requires Aida to sing an "f" on the second syllable of enough. "a" is kind of dark and so in order to brighten it I am going to sing final phrase on "coo" because "ou" is very bright; it's a lot brighter than the "a". Okay, so I am going to use "ou" to color the "a".
Step 5: Notes
But I need [singing]
I don't want [singing]
That's too nasal
I want [singing]
I would rather the sound here so I am going to sing it on "coo"
[singing]
Which is a lot better, okay.
So this last time, now that I have the right place for "coo", we are going to sing it again and hopefully it will sound better.
[singing]
There there wasn't any tension here. It's a lot better; I still need to work on it, obviously.
