Sink Outside Of The Toilet Tank

Sink Outside Of The Toilet Tank

Utility sink retrofits to a toilet tapping hidden source of wasted fresh water. Thinking outside the box created the sink outside the tank. First seen in Japan, adapted to US toilets for easy installation and huge benefits. (No more faucets!) Hands-free, automatic, simple and clean, should be called, Duh Sink.

I don't get it. The waste water from the hands being washed just goes down the overflow pipe i.e straight into the toilet pan. This is just like tapping into the cistern filler and using an extra outlet to get the water for your hands. The waste water from the hands doesnt fill the cistern up at all. Its like having a toilet with a tap that turns itself off. So yes it does waste water because you might be done with it before it has turned itself off.

The problem is, finding these units. My Eco-Buddy has had one for yonks, but when I did a web-search---NADA! Well, like the cut-off valave I use while soaping my hair, they will become more available when the demand increases. IOW, keep pasing around those videos. ;)

Duh. The water from this system goes into the cistern/tank for the next flush. It wastes no water ... what video did some of you watch? (The only problem is it's only cold water ... brrrr!)

lonepine, this is not designed to be the only sink in the bathroom... it is designed to be used after using the toilet, thus, saving water... I actualy think this is a fantastic idea, but it kinda looks weird aint it?

That was amazing. I have never seen anything like it. This should be mandatory for conserving the environmment.

I am concerned about contaminating the toilet tank though with bacteria and viruses from washing our dirty hands. The filthy water will have to sit there for a while until the next toilet flush. Unless of course there's at least a bleach tablet in the toilet tank to take care of that problem.

how is this wasting water? after using the toilet u need to wash your hands don't you? well.. when u flush the toilet the clean water that is filling your tank is the sink water and the sink water that you are cleanin your hands are going into your toilet tank. so it's actually reusing water, not wasting.
