Textbook Tips

VideoJug user VideoMathTutor has compiled a list of truly useful textbook tips. Now you can get better use out of your math textbook, and therefore improve your math studies, all by following these easy textbook tips.
-
Step 1:
-
Organization
-
So let's say you have a textbook and you want to organize yourself better with this thing. I don't know if you can see this but I've put some little tabs on here.
-
Step 2:
-
Small Tabs
-
You can get these at any office supply store. Just remove the little tabs here and stick them some place in the book.
My suggested areas, like for example, are the beginning of a chapter or a page with lots of formulas or a review. I would use a different one to turn to for homework.
And finally, I have one stuck back here, say for I want to take a look at the solutions or something. So I have one back here that will tell you what the solutions are like, to the homework problems right here.
-
Step 3:
-
Stick Up Notes
-
Another suggestion, is the usage of these little tiny stick up notes. Again, any office supply store has them. What you do here, to use an example, is stick it on the area right beneath the question you're working on your homework.
Because believe me, this has happened countless times, that a student is doing a homework problem and he copies the wrong one down and he gets it wrong because the teacher wants problem #5 and he did problem #4 or #6.
So just when I'm done with the problem and I move it down a notch or whatever, and put it right there. I bend the corner a little bit, like that, so they're easy to remove. So when you remove them, don't do it too fast.
Again, this is something to help you better organize yourself when you're studying at home.
-
Step 4:
-
Clips
-
So here's our little bookstand here. Again, another suggestion is, especially when you're in the beginning part of the book is just put some kind of clip right there so that the books stays nice and sturdy on here and make sure your clips are placed firmly against the pages, so the pages don't move, And again, just very carefully switch the pages over. So when you're doing homework, slap on a clip. They're pretty handy, all right?
