The Good Wingman's Guide To A Night Out
Drinkaware show's you the essential skills needed to be a good wingman. This film will show you how to steer your mate through the dangerous skies of booze Britain, watching his back for targets and keeping a subtle eye on the horizon for targets.
The Good Wingman's Guide To A Night Out
Step 1: Getting Ready
You'd think that a grown adult would be capable of getting themselves ready for a night out, but you'd be wrong. They need to actually think about what they are going to wear, rather than accessorising by roulette.
And you need to remind your mate that a quick scrub, three Malibu and cokes and a packet of crisps aren't perfect preparation for a successful campaign. They need to have a decent meal inside them - they're not going to get very far flying on vapour.
Step 2: In the pub
It's the start of the night, so there's no point going out all guns blazing. Go slow, pace yourselves. It's your role as wingman to have a good look for potential targets, work out strategy and plan out the best approach. Try and keep your powder at least slightly dry for when everyone else's is sodden.
Step 3: In the club
Well done, if you've got your friend this far, then you're obviously doing something right. But don't get carried away. He might now be viewing tequila as an essential weapon in his arsenal, but remind him that it's the guy who stays the course that gets the girl. If your friend is starting to look a bit peaky, he's reached his tipping point, so offer to get him a pint - but make it tap water. It won't cost you a penny and it might help bring him back from the dark side.
Step 4: On the way home
It's the end of the night and you've remembered the most important wingman lesson of them all. Always have an escape plan..
You might be heading back to base with only your co-pilot for company, but this does not mean the mission was a failure. The most important thing is that the good time stayed good. Even the most experienced pilot can crash and burn..
