Step 1: What She'll Do

The Self Absorbed friend is the one who only ever talks about herself. She will go on and on about what's going on in her life, and she'll show absolutely no interest in yours.

Every time you see her she will moan about how she's been sooo busy at school or work, or how she's been sooo ill, or how her boyfriend is really annoying her. Or she'll go the other way and talk incessantly about how fantastic she is, or how great her life/her boyfriend are. When was the last time she actually asked you about your life? Can you even remember? In fact, has she ever?

Step 2: What You Can Do

She may be so self absorbed that she doesn't even know she's doing this. Or she'll be aware of it, but choosing to continue. If you want to stay friends with her but have had enough of being the silent partner then you'll have to find a way to tell her to shape up or ship out.
