By using a combination of keystrokes, you can perform tasks on Windows Media Player that normally needs a mouse or other pointing device. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to select commands, buttons, and menus. Here are the most useful ones

Step 1: View

To zoom to 50 percent use ALT + 1
To zoom to 100 percent use ALT + 2
To zoom to 200 percent use ALT + 3

To switch media player to full mode press CTRL + 1
To switch it to skin mode press CTRL + 2

If you are watching a video, to watch it in full screen press ALT + ENTER.

Step 2: Playback options

To play to previous item press CTRL + B
To play the next item press CTRL + F
To play or pause a file type CTRL + P
To stop playback use CTRL + S
To rewind video press CTRL + SHIFT + B
To fast forward through video or music use CTRL + SHIFT + F
To turn subtitles and captions off press CTRL + SHIFT + C
To close or stop playing a file use CTRL + W
If you want to eject CD or DVD press CTRL + J

Step 3: Volume options

To mute the volume press F7
To decrease the volume press F8
To increase the volume press F9

Step 4: Library

If you want to add media files to your library press F3
When you are in the media library and want to move to the search box press CTRL + E
To turn shuffle on and off use CTRL + H
