What To Do When You Spill Someone's Drink
VideoJug are here to save you by telling you what to do when you spill someone's drink. You're in the bar, you've had a few, when all of a sudden you spill it. We show you how best to react, and what to do next.
Step 1: Avoid in the first place
You are most likely to spill someone's drink when your making magnanimous gestures, carrying a few drinks of your own, or if you're three sheets to the wind. So remember to be observant at these high risk moments. If you do spill someone's drink, do not ignore it, but act quickly to assess the situation and defuse any hostile vibrations.
Step 2: Apologise
if you've just spilt someone's drink then apologise immediately and unreservedly. If they are a decent type, this should stop them from getting too aerated. It is important that once you have defused the situation, your next move is to establish if a new drink needs buying or not
Step 3: Buy a replacement
Have a look at the damage, if you've just knocked their drink out of their hands on to the floor then you need to replace it immediately. But don't let them ridicule you. If however you've just slopped a finger of lager down their top, then it shouldn't be a big deal. Most decent chaps will be okay about it and no replacement drink should be required. If however they get funny about it, they just by them a drink to save you the trouble.
Step 4: Aggression
Sometimes even after you've bought them a replacement drink, they wont let it lie. They'll bang on about clothing labels, carelessness, and the fact that they are wet. These people are not worth your time. Either move to a different part of the bar, or leave all together. After all, its only as pub.
