Can A Landlord Evict Me For Having Guests In A Common Area?

I had four visitors by the pool and with no warning my landlord came outside and told me that I was evicted for having guests by the pool on a Friday. I had never seen a rule posted anywhere saying that and the time was 7pm on a July evening.

An eviction takes months to carry out. Your landlord can evict you if you broke the rules written out in your rental agreement or lease. Read over your lease and see if there were any rules that were broken. If there was, a single instance of unruley behavior is not enough to evict somone. Know your rights, contact OSHA and the Department of Housing in your city to learn more and get a professional opinion. As I said... evictions will take lots of money and many months to proceed. It is NOT cost effective for your landlord, or the rental company, to spend thousands of dollars on someone who brought over a few people on a weekend to enjoy the night. If you are in good standing with the apartment complex, a stern warning is what you should get. I believe the landlord is bluffing... but know your rights! Most landlords are banking on the knowledge that most tenants are uninformed.
