Oh one other thing...It is hard when they begin to go through transition phases...my daughter has been on a 5 ounce bottle since she was about 7 weeks. Before that if was 4-5 ounces and so on. A baby should get what they need in about 20 minutes when they are formula fed. If the feed takes 30 minutes...try burping them...holding them. It may be gas not hunger. My daughter had a severe milk allergy the first month and it took me a good month to figure out what was wrong. Normally within 3-4 weeks a baby will need their bottle increased by an ounce from what they had previously until they reach an 8 ounce bottle. Every child is different, just listen to their hunger cues. If they can't be content for 3-4 hours at 9 weeks feed them, burp them...you will know. Good luck! I know I needed it in the begining!

My son is 9 weeks old and has been eating 40-45 ounces per day for the last three weeks. He was 8.1 pounds and 21 3/4 inches long at birth. He is now 23 inches long and 15.2 lbs. My other 2 children ate a lot early on and grew quickly as well--both 20 lbs in three months. They are now older, healthy children with no health problems or issues with weight. Your baby will tell you when they have had enough. If your child spits up a lot then they are getting too much, but otherwise let them eat--they are eating what they need. My kids are all in the 95th %ile and above, but my husband and I are tall people and average weight. Consider your child's genes too--some kids are just bigger--and maybe only early on and later they level out. Good luck!

my son is 9 weeks today he drinks every 3 - 4 hours and he sometimes will drink a whole 6 oz bottle so i decided to start putting 7 oz in bottle he sometimes eats the full 7 oz and sometimes will only eat 5 - 6 oz of the bottle he weighed 9lb 1 oz when he was born and is on the hungry baby feed. if your baby wants it give it no point in depriving him of food... good luck
