A server is like a big computer that hosts the files that make up websites. They're always on, which is why websites are available 24/7. They're just a big hard disc, constantly chugging away keeping hold of files. ISDN is a method of getting hold of The Internet -- ISDN is basically big copper wires transmitting information from one side of the world to the other. Maximum speeds via IDSN is 128 kbits per second, which is just slightly too slow to be considered 'broadband'. ISDN was basically a stop gap between the old days of Dial-Up (28.8k/ 56k phoneline-based Internet) and modern Broadband connections.
