hi i make koftas with gulab jamun mix. for this you need gulab jamun ready mix. take the amount according to the no. of people you want to serve, add pinch of salt and chilli powder. knead the mix with warm water or milk or as per instructions on pack. make small balls, fry them and leave aside. for gravy blend 2 onions, 5-6 cloves of garlic, 1 inch ginger, half a tin of tomatoes(or 4 fresh tomatoes) 100gms of cashews(optional) . heat the oil in pan, add cumin seeds, and add belnded puree, cook until oil seprates and then add half a spoon of turmeic powder, chilli powder according to taste and then add 2 cups of water, cover it with lid, let it cook properly. leave it to cool and then add thick cream and then pour over koftas just before serving otherwise koftas wil just melt or become to spongy. garnish with fresh corriander and cream.
