Im also having the same problem with my bunny. Not only does she pee on the sofa a minute after she jumps onto it...she also pees on the carpet, this is pretty much a daily thing with her, and the wierd part is she doesn't pee in the same spot, she seems to pee everywhere. She is litter box trained..when she's in her cage the only place that she pees is the litter box..any suggestions on what I can possibly do to prevent this?? (she has recently been spayed as well)

Just like guinea pigs rabbits have to urinate every 1/2 hour or 15 mins if under 1 year old, so try putting her back in her cage every 14 mins.when u take her out of her cage take a blanket with u so she can run on it and not chew the carpet. I have the same problem with my guinea pig, she doesn't seem to be interested in her toys but animals are very entertaned animals they don't need much.

That is exactly why I am on the internet! Im trying to find out the same thing! Every time I put my bunny on my bed she pees and poops everywhere! I heard that mostly males do this, but I was told mine was a female. I don't know how to make her quit because it is really nasty!

Hi, Whenever my rabbit (male) got onto a bed he would pee, I read its because they smell humans and their reaction is to urinate, like a territory thing, so I would guess that with a sofa it is the same thing, mine never did on the sofa but then it was a new sofa so maybe it didn't smell enough?! After getting him neutered, he stopped weeing on the beds completely and now only pees in his litter box, and has also stopped with his 'raisens' which used to be everywhere. I only ever had to use one litter tray, just always made sure he could get to it. If they do pee somewhere else you should clean it with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to remove the smell or urine, because if she smells it she will pee there again. Maybe just don't let her up on the sofa until she is properly litter trained. It takles quite a lot of adjusting when you first get a rabbit, I had a lot of teething problems but once they are sorted out you won't regret it. Oh, I found most toys rubbish, my rabbit wont go near them, but if you can get a branch of apple tree and they love that, will spend hours chewing. Have a look online because there are other tree they like as well. The best toys are the natural ones. Persevere with the stroking, mine was a bit like that, still won't let me pick him up. A couple of times a day stroke/pick her up then immediately give her a treat (carrots, fenugreek treat, grape or something) so she associates it with something positive. I hope this helps.

Hi, she is only a baby and so still has lots of learning to do with a litter tray. If she is using it in the cage/room where she sleeps then that's a great start! When you let her out don't let her straight away into the whole house but into a room or just a bit of a room. she will naturally want to mark her new territory, so put her first of all in a litter tray (make sure she has hay and nice things in the litter trat to encourage her to go in there). Maybe also to start with put a litter tray on the sofa, so if she jumps on there, put her in the litter tray to use that. Once she gets used to the idea that she should always use a litter tray you can use fewer of them, but best to start with too many than too few. Just let her out for short periods of time (like 20 minutes) so she can get used to everything slowly. She will learn if you are gentle but consistent in your training. You may have to watch her all the time to start with, but as she learns you will be able to get on with other tasks as she's hopping about. Happy training! :-)
