just to let you know about the sales man with the house alarms . the head office had no info on the man in question and had no one working in my area that day . they have informed the police who have requested a discription from me .

Seen that 'Homer Simpson' look a million times before, and I'll still run through the pitch just the same! You must have have been visited by some very timid door-knockers that's all I'll say!

I work as a door knocker for a local newspaper offering a delivery service, and as far as I know it's certantly not illegal to knock a door if it has a 'No Cold Calls' sticker on it. Indeed, many a time I have knocked such doors and, and got a sale off the householder! If it is the case (which I very seriously doubt) and I am told it is the case by my employer, I would naturally abide by it, but until then I will continue to cheerfully ignore such signs. We don't do 'pushy' I tell them what's on offer, and if they like the sound of it then great, but if not then it's "thanks for your time" and I'm on me way. Thirty seconds of your time tops - now really, what is so terrible about that? I can't see why people see it as some kind of great personal affront. I'm contracted to knock doors, I need to make money - and that's all there is to it. Unless of course.... someone wished to offer me a salary + commisson NOT to knock doors - I might be amienable to that! ;)

i have just had the most in your face door to door sales man call to flog an house alarm . he wanted me to sign up to a years contract way over the odds on the spot along with giving him all my privet bank details as well he wouldnt talk no for an answer . i told him he was not going to get anything from me he was also over priced and very in my face i asked for his head office phone number and his ID badge details so that i could report his sales tac tic's . he was reluctant to give them so i gave him the option of giving them me or i will call the police . i now have his details and reported him to his head office and gave them 24 hours to reply or i will contact the police as he could be a con working the area . just remember its your home and property you have a right to say no at any time with out been rude and ask them to level . if they resist report them its your right

The say to keep the telemarketers from calling you (back) is to: 1.) Answer the call. 2.) Tell the marketer that you are not interested in whatever it is they are marketing AND 3.) BEFORE YOU HANG UP THE PHONE, ASK THEM NICELY TO: "PLEASE REMOVE MY NAME FROM YOUR CALL LIST - A L S O, PLEASE DO NOT SELL, OR DISTRUBUTE MY INFORMATION TO ANY OTHER COMPANY". If you hang up before you ask them to take you off the list, they'll call again. If you forget to ask them to remove your name from the call lists, they may not call you, BUT they'll share your contact/account information with their subsidiaries AND other companies too. Also, if you're not nice about it you'll probably remain on the list AND end up with your information being sold all over the place. It's kind of like that don't piss off your waiter, or they may spit in your food when they bring your steak back fully cooked - kind of thing. Good luck!

The way to keep Jehoviah's Witnesses from returning to your home is to open the door when they knock, and very gently tell them that you have been "DIS-FELLOWSHIPPED FROM THE HALL." I almost joined them, and I know from studying with them that they will not return if they think that you've been outcast from the flock, and they DO NOT want to involve themselves from a member who's been banished for their deeds. You have to speak to them gently, and humbly as if you were ONE OF THEM, so that they'll believe you. If you're rude, they'll thnk you're making it up and they'll be back again the follwing Saturday - in FORCE (lol). What I tell you is true. Good luck, and try not to judge others so harshly

Neil2112 can i just put something right about what you wrote about Mormons. they are members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints' with name badge what says that . followed by Elder (last name) .they don't come to convert you only to tell you about the gospel . at no stage will any member of the church tell you to become a member its a personal choice .also both young men and women from all over the world who are worthy (not just white men) giving up 18 /24 month of there life's what is self funded not only to teach the gospel but also to do charitable acts with in the area they are posted they are not under any presser to by leaders to make any numbers up . so if you are so fast at hiding behind the door while wondering how could you do your garden this summer your prayers was answered just don't blame god that your hard done to yet again .

why are people just so rude. JWs have the right to go to your door, the same way trick-or-treaters do, or the mail man, or salepeople. just say i'm not interested or please don't return. that's all. dont be a jerk about it.
