I know how you feel I have tendonitis in my shoulders and it's so painful.
I have been told that heat help and there is also a steriod injection that can be given by your doctor. If that doesn't help then surgery is the last result

It's all about rest i'm afraid...if you're doing any sports take a break for a few weeks. The annoying thing is where the injury is so you have to walk on it..so you need to put a heel raise in your shoe to shorten your muscles and allow it to repair. Ice is perfect after exercise and heat if there is no inflammation present (heat, swelling).. you can also get someone else or do it this yourself - transfriction massage - basically rubbing the painful spot across the fibres (as they run verticallly down towards your heal you obviously do it across) until it goes numb, after it has become numb continue for another 5 minutes. Do this every other day - do not take anti-inflammatory drugs as this slows the healing process down. Then once pain has gone slowly!!!! strengthen the calf muscles (start light weight for a few weeks!!) Hope this helps!! let me know your progress
