I've used Pressure cookers for over 20 years and never had a problem. There are a few rules to abide by: 1) Do not over fill. 3/4 full max - or liquid will bung up the vent holes. 2) Make sure you put the lid on properly - most 'click' into place. 3) When it starts to hiss lower the heat a touch. 4) Start a 'Timer' for your required time. 5) Do not 'forget about' the cooker whilst it is operating. 6)Turn heat off after required time. Leave to stand before opening lid. You can quick cool by placing in bowl od cold water - but it will be heavy and hot! 7) do not try to open until pressure indicator shows that it is ok to open. Things that go wrong: 1. The lid seal is defective and thus the pressure cannot build up - replace it. 2. Too full - liquid bubbles out of vents - dangerous 3. Left too long - cremated recipe!! Happy Pressure cooking
