Franee,
Yes, I've spoken with Twyla with Premier a couple of times now. She asked for current pictures, which I sent. She said she has contacted a Doctor in Colorado who treated other victims to see what he thinks. She said he has not gotten back to her yet. It's been about 6 weeks, but really no help as yet. I'm hopeful that Premier will do as they say they will and offer some help either medically or financially, but so far, nothing.

Wknhipi, have you gotten any response from them yet? Any help at all? I have been asking around on your behalf and all I have heard about is scar needling to soften the scarring.

Details
Product: Premier Pigments
Manufacturer: American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics
Premier Pigments is the brand name for inks used in the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics permanent makeup procedure. Permanent makeup is a tattoo substitute for daily makeup.
In late June 2007, researchers issued a report in the New England Journal of Medicine saying permanent makeup can disfigure patients for years if they suffer allergic reactions.
In 2004, the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics issued a recall of its inks used in the Premier Pigments brand because the inks were implicated in many of the reports made to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/answers/2004/ANS01295.html
"..In July 2003, the manufacturer reported to FDA its intent to remove five of its ink shades from "..the market, based on six adverse events that had been reported. However, FDA has obtained additional reports of adverse events involving ink shades that were not included in the firm's removal effort. While the investigation continues, FDA is alerting consumers about associated adverse event reports received about Premier Products ink shades identified on the FDA website at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-tat2.html... "

July 6, 2004: The AAM Speaks Out on FDA Alert Regarding Allergic Reactions to Pigment in Permanent Makeup The American Academy of Micropigmentation reminds the public that in the FDA's alert, the pigments involved are limited to those manufactured by Sandi Hammons of Premier Pigments in Arlington, Texas.

http://www.news-medical.net/?id=26968
.."..is well documented and in 2004, the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics in Arlington, Texas, recalled and replaced inks in its Premier Pigments brand after they were implicated in many of the problems reported to the FDA. "
http://www.aao.org/aao/publications/eyenet/200509/am_rounds.cfm
"..In order to assess the extent of the problem and how long the disfigurement lasted, Masja Straetemans of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and her colleagues interviewed 92 women who had problems following the procedure."
The same day that Ms. Smith came to see us, I saw an FDA Alert warning consumers about adverse events associated with certain shades of the Premier Pigment brand of tattoo ink. Side effects included inflammation, blistering, scarring and the formation of granulomas in the periorbital area."
Unfortunately, this is exactly the brand of pigment that Ms. Smith received. (The Premier pigments associated with adverse reactions are listed at this Web address: www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-tat2.html.)
http://www.lucire.com/2004a/0703ll0.shtml
"The pigment manufacturer, Premier Pigments, was well aware of the allergic reactions associated with their product and did not disclose it. I also learned that industrial paint had been used as one of the ingredients"
http://www.micropigmentation.org/allergic_reactions/index.php
"Allergic reactions are a concern to all of us in PC. We rarely heard of them until early 2003 when reports of allergic reactions to Premier Pigments True Color Concentrates began. These allergic reactions were uncommonly severe and frequent and affected brow, eyeliner and lipcolor clients. The problem orange pigment has since been identified and eliminated from the manufacturer's pigments, according to Premier. Do NOT do any retouches over a Premier True Color Concentrate with any pigments as allergic reactions have been associated with using safe pigments over Premier True Colors after such retouches. Do NOT use ANY True Color Concentrates as they have now all been recalled. For a list of colors associated with allergic reactions go to: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-tat2.html"
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/245/RipOff0245291.htm
"..Premier Pigments lied to me by e-mail to get an order out of me and as they have recieved their money from my visa they washed their hands. They promised to send the creams as samples (in writing) so as I would order and then sent as a normal packet not declaring as samples. Now they have their money and I have no product or have to pay an enormous bill to customs.
I would like to warn anyone thinking of buying from them not to as they promise anything to get the money out of you and then ignore you if there is any problem!
I feel cheated by Diana GAllardo and ripped off by her supervisor and Premier Pigments who make promises and dont keep them!

Franee, I live in AZ, until next January when I'll move back to Oregon. The picture of the lip liner on 5/8/4 is how my whole mouth looked for a year. After numerous doctors and treatments, nothing worked, which is why the doctors at OHSU (Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital) decided that laser removal was my only choice. Now of course I'm left with burns scars in place of lips. I was way too casual about selecting the person who did the tatooing and didn't do any research about the risks. I had my brows and eye liner done years before and had no problems at all. To save a little money I didn't go to the person who did my eyes, I went to a salon that a friend recommended because they would do it for $200 less. My only advice to people who are considering having cosmetic tatooing is, make informed choices, ask a lot of questions, select a reputable technician who has done the procedure many times, and don't cut corners to save money. Thanks for sharing the links you guys! I was amazed when the CDC contacted me back in 2004 - I had no idea how many people had been hurt. Really really sad!

http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-tat2.html
Maybe the biased should read this as well--you may learn something. Wknhipi you are legit. I saw this on CNN. I think I'd make another call not to Premier but I think you get my drift. Do not let these bully you. Isn't such a thing as cyber bullying?

Thank you so much twymil, sarky and cynthia. Cynthia, I guess I understand your skepticism. I've never used the net for anything like this before. A friend suggested that I try to put something out there to see if someone had some advice for me. I had heard there were other people like me and I was trying to find out if it is really hopeless. Is it Twyla? I believe I got an email from you once. I called, they took my name, and said you were unavailable - twice. I will call and hopefully you can help. It's been a long road....Sue T.

As manager for Premier Pigments I take these reports seriously. I believe that we have paid for or paying for all medical treatment for all allergic reactions to the recalled True Color line in 2003 and we have referrals to surgeons who are qualified to treat allergic reactions. If you have questions about allergic reactions to the recalled colors or want any other information or if I can help you in any way, please contact me directly on my cell phone - 817-821-2722.
