If My Wife Conceived Three Weeks Ago, Why Does The Doctor Say She Is Five Weeks Pregnant?

I just found out my wife is pregnant about a week ago. My wife is saying she is three weeks pregnant by pregnancy weeks but the doctor is saying she is five weeks pregnant. I didn't see her until the end of march which would have made it three weeks for us. So should i go by what the doctor is saying or by what she is saying?
