Yeah when i first bought my ps3 i was in a hurry to play online, so i just typed in a stupid name. Now i'm stuck with it. I don't ever play online anymore because it is so stupid.

There's no way of changing the ID name, I'm afraid. Not easily. Looks to me like you need to make a new Account, which you'll need to do under a different email address (set up one for free at gmail or hotmail, for example). I'm not familiar with PS3s so I don't know if there are any stats or anything you'd like to copy across -- presumably you don't want to lose those... it might be possible to copy all your stats onto a Memory Card, set up a new Master Account on the PS3, delete the original and then copy everything back again... any online stats will be tied to your old ID on Sony's Database, so you'll lose those, I'm afraid...
