Tennis: I Keep Framing The Ball - Is It My Fast Swing / Extreme Forehand Grip / Bad Coordination?

I'm an agressive player with a fast swing and an exaggerated forehand grip (as if picking the racket off the floor - not sure what the term is for this grip). 80% of forehands are fine but qiute a few come off the inner frame and usually fly out of court. Should I use a less exaggerated grip / get better coordination / come up on the ball more?

I am a teaching pro and I see this often. One suggestion I have is for you to ensure that your head does not move during your forward swing. If your head moves then so does your body often resulting in your racquet being pulled from the ball "just at contact"! Reducing your swing speed will help you observe what you are doing and often have a cleaner hit. Track the ball with your eyes not head. Good luck!

This is my first year playing tennis for my high school, but I've caught on pretty quick. My tip is that you should try to swing slower and watch the ball as it hits your strings; that's what my coach tells us when it happens on the team. Remember, it's not all about power because swinging faster may cause a bigger margin of error.
