This could be one of a number of things, so try each step in order: 1: delete your temporary internet files (there's no need to delete cookies or passwords) 2: Ensure there are no security or other errors showing in the bottom left of internet explorer's status bar - if you have a javascript error (a yellow exclamation mark) hold CRTL and press F5 to do a complete refresh of the page (this forces internet explorer to download all the scripts and other page resources from the server, instead of using a cached version) 3: Repair your java virtual machine by getting the latest version from Sun (www.java.com) 4: Disable or get rid of any fancy toolbars, such as searchbars (including the Google toolbar) and 3rd party pop-up blockers. These sometimes have a negative effect on Ajax-enabled sites (such as Facebook) as they inject their own client side behaviours into the page, which can interfere with the intended functionality.

I have the same problem as blondie 88! I can log in to facebook and view my messages but cannot respond to anyone because when I click "post" the button doesn't work. I can't confirm friend requests either. Tried the F5 thing and that hasn't helped.

I'm having these problems too. Started about a week ago - problems like wildstyle below (keep reseting password - when I do get in I can't respond to messages etc). Not only is facebook a problem - I can't use my tesco account either (having to shop at sainsbury's - nightmare). I've downloaded the java thing that walmanator suggested and tried ctrl F5 - really thought that this would fix things but no - same problems.
