Embed video

What is an embed?

An Embed is a great way for you to share your favourite Videojug videos on your blog or website. The "Embed code" can be found on every video page. By simply copying and pasting the code to where you want the film with the player to appear, you can increase your audience engagement.

Why should I embed Videojug videos on my website / blog / etc?

Media is King. By having a video on your desired location you can increase engagement and traffic to your website by a substantial amount! Embed our famous "How to Cook Chicken Curry in 10 minutes" video to that Indian Cookery blog post you wrote. Videojug's extensive library of professionally made videos means that we always have a great video for any topic.

How can I have one of Videojug’s videos on my website / blog / etc?

  1. Head over to the film page for the desired video
  2. Press on the button "embed"
  3. Press on the code to copy it to your clipboard
  4. Paste this code to your website

The standard width and height of the player is 640 by 382 pixels. The embed code is also iFrame on default, If you would like help on how to change it to a normal embed code just read the section How can I customise an embed code?

How can I customise an Embed code?

  1. Head over to the film page of the desired video
  2. Press on the button "embed"
  3. Press on Edit Options
    1. You can decide the measurements of the video by editing the Height and Width. Just input the desired measurements and the code automatically updates to your desired measurements. By default this is 640 by 382 pixels
    2. You can change the embed code format to a standard format by ticking the tick box that says "Standard Embed Codes". The embed code is an iFrame by default. Revert back to an iFrame embed code by unticking the box.
    3. If you would like your film to autoplay when the user lands on your page, just tick the tick box that says "Autoplay". Turn off the Autoplay functionality by unticking the box.

For Contributors - how can I see all my embed codes?

  1. Login to your account with your Videojug credentials
  2. Head over to "My Account"
  3. Press on the "Embed" button
  4. You can now see all of your embed codes.
  5. You can go through all of your embed codes by scrolling down the page.
  6. You can change the embed code by editing the "Edit Options". Please look at How can I customise an embed code? for further options information

For Contributors - how can I email myself all of my embed codes?

  1. Login to your account with your Videojug credentials
  2. Head over to "My Account"
  3. Press on the "Embed" button
  4. You can now see all of your embed codes.
  5. If you scroll down the page, you should be able to see the "Email me all my codes" functionality.
  6. Your default email has already been inserted, if you wish to change the email where the codes will be sent to you can edit this email by clicking on it
  7. When you have inserted the correct email, just press "Send" and you will receive an email to your inbox.
  8. This email will include all of your embed codes, taking into consideration the edit options you have chosen.

How to Embed using Wordpress.com

  1. Find the video you would like to share on your Wordpress.com blog.
  2. Under the Title, click on the video's picture.
  3. Right click on this large picture and press on "Copy Image URL" on the large image.
  4. Login into your Wordpress Blog and press on "Add New" under the Posts menu
  5. Press on the "Upload / Insert" media on top of the text editor, it looks like an image of a photo camera and a music note.
  6. Click on "From URL", and make sure that the "Image tick box is ticked"
  7. Copy the thumbnail URL to the field that says "URL"
  8. Now navigate back to Videojug, on the video that you have chosen and copy the URL of the video
  9. Paste this URL in the field that says "Link Image To:"
  10. You can write the title, Caption and choose a few other options that Wordpress gives you when uploading an image.
  11. Now Press on "Insert into Post"
  12. Publish the post! The video should now be uploaded in the form of an image, when one of your readers want to enjoy the video they have to just press on the title on top of the image.
  13. Alternatively you can press on "New Post", and then "Post a Photo". From here you can paste the image link in the "Use a photo URL" field and press on "Fetch Photo"
  14. You should then paste the video url in the "Photo Click-through Link". You can also add the Photo Title and Photo Caption.

What is the difference between Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org?

Wordpress.com is a free online publishing tool where you are able to update your blog through their website. While through Wordpress.org you will have to install the software on your own computer and host your website. If you are running an earlier version of Wordpress 2.9 we recommend you update to the newest version. Wordpress.org help.

How to Embed using Wordpress.org

  1. Login into the admin panel of your Wordpress.org Blog.
  2. Navigate to the "Settings" menu and click on "Media".
  3. Look for the "Auto-Embed" setting, and make sure that the tickbox is checked.
  4. Now you will need to install the Wordpress plugin called "Videojug OEmbed"
  5. The plugin can be found on the left hand side of the page where it says "Plugins"
  6. Click on "Add New" and search for "Videojug OEmbed"
  7. Click on install, and install again in the window that appears.
  8. Once the plugin has been successfully installed, you'll need to click on the "Activate Plugin" link
  9. Done! Now every videojug link that you post on your blog will automatically be converted to a video for your users to enjoy!

How to Embed using Blogger

  1. Find the video you would like to share and click on the embed button.
  2. Copy the embed to your clipboard.
  3. Login to your blog in Blogger and create a new post, or edit an old post.
  4. Once you are in the post editor, switch to the "HTML" tab
  5. Paste the embed code you copied from Videojug
  6. Now publish the post.
  7. The post will now include your chosen Videojug video for your readers
    to enjoy!
