A Cheerleader's Guide To Happiness

What can cheeerleaders teach the rest of us about happiness?

It's my job as a cheerleader to make people happy because that's why we are cheerleaders. We are perky. We are happy. We make people happy.

Why are cheerleaders so happy?

We get to work together as a team. Cheerleading is very fulfilling, it just makes me happy. Getting to do something you really love, which is cheer for me. I love to stunt and dance, so whenever I cheer I'm really happy. I consider myself a very happy person.

Are cheerleaders really happier than regular people?

I don't think that the cheerleader stereotype about being happy is necessarily true because you can be happy if you want to, so I don't think it's true.

What has cheerleading taught you about happiness?

Yeah. Cheer has taught me to work as a team, because then I get to know people, and get new friends. It's taught me discipline and that I can't always get exactly what I want or be where I want or do what I want. And that's helped, because now I when I don't get something I want I don't cry, like I used to do when I was little.
