What is an ATM?

ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine. It's a facility that is set up by your bank. An ATM has got money in it, and you can put your debit card in there, enter you pin number, and withdraw funds from your card account.

Will I be charged for using an ATM?

You won't be charged for using and ATM at a bank, even if you're not a customer of that bank. However, there are other ATMs which are provided by independent operators which will warn you if they are going to charge you a fee for withdrawing money.
