How should I manage my pitching substitutions?

As a a manger, the most important thing to do in terms of substitutions is to be aware of injury. Whenever you have a pitcher in the game, there comes a point when if it gets past a certain number of pitches, which you can find pitch count, statistical analyses. Maybe at littleleaguebaseball.com, but there are very hard and fast rules as to how many pitches start to put the pitcher in jeopardy. So number one is health. Being aware of health. Number two is if you start to notice a situation where the pitcher is obviously struggling. That is obviously a time to make a change. And then situationally, there are times when maybe there is a left handed hitter in the game and you have a left handed pitcher who does not really throw a lot, but he is good to come in for maybe a hitter or two. Strategically that can be very good to bring a left handed pitcher in versus a left handed hitter because they are not used to seeing left handed pitchers.
