Being Single After Divorce

Kirsten Gronning (Divorce Coach) gives expert video advice on: I've lost my self-confidence - what should I do?; How do I boost my self-confidence? and more...

I've lost my self-confidence - what should I do?

If you've lost your self confidence after a divorce, you need to think back to what you used to enjoy doing and try to make a plan. Focus on some new activities to do, something that you can go out and do each week, and reward yourself when you've done it. You'll feel much better for it.

I miss my friends - what shall I do?

Why aren't you seeing your friends? Have you actually told them about the divorce? Have they been helpful and supportive? Try being honest with them about the divorce and its impact. Tell them that you miss them. Tell them why it is that you've divorced and how difficult it is for you, but expect them to make up their own mind about how they want to play the relationship in the future.

Should I find new friends after a divorce?

It's good to find new friends, and new activities as well, after divorce. Surrounding yourself with new people and new activities has got to be a good way of pitching yourself into the future and getting over your past.

Should I move to a new area?

Moving to a new area after a divorce could be a good experience and could work, but you'll need to take into account the effect on families, especially any children you may have. Weigh out the pros and cons carefully before you make any to move to a new area.
