Blood Type Diet Analysis
What is the overall analysis of the Blood Type Diet?
Overall, with a Blood Type Diet, there is no scientific backing behind it. There is no proof or any factual basis behind needing to consume a particular diet or particular exercise plan based on our blood type. In fact, there are more then four blood types. There are many subtypes within each of those blood types. So, that complicates the picture even more if we are supposed to be eating according to our diet. So, there really is, bottom line, no scientific backing behind it, no support behind it.
What are the biggest concerns about the Blood Type Diet?
My biggest concern with the Blood Type Diet is that people buy it, and that they believe in it and follow it. I'm most concerned about the type O's, by telling type O's that they should be consuming mainly a meat diet. That's putting them at risk for heart disease, cancers, type 2 diabetes, and many more because a high meat diet is high in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. We all know that those can contribute to some of these chronic diseases. If they're not getting the fruits, vegetables and whole grains that they need, they're not consuming some of those protective nutrients either.
Why is the Blood Type Diet considered a fad diet?
This is considered a fad diet because there's absolutely no scientific backing behind it. It makes promises that have no research behind them, and it's not something that people can really follow for a long period of time, depending on what prescription you are supposed to be following. For the type O's, which is most concerning, people get tired of eating meat.
