The Blood Type Diet works by simply acknowledging whatever type you are, and that you are going to be restricting some foods. So, because you're restricting foods, you're most likely going to be consuming fewer calories and you'll probably lose some weight.

If you're a Type O, you should be eating a lot of meat. That's based on the notion that Type O was one of the first blood types back in the day when we were hunter-gatherers, so we were supposedly hunting and eating a lot of meat products. So not eating as many fruits, not eating as many vegetables and carbohydrates.

Type A's are supposedly the cultivars. Type A arose when we started cultivating, so type A's are supposed to be following a more vegetarian type of diet.

If you're a Type B, you really have the widest range of foods that you can eat. Meat, vegetables, fruits: essentially an omnivorous diet.
What foods do I eat if I am blood type AB?
Now an AB blood type is a combination between type A and type B. You can eat meat if you're an AB type, but in limited amounts. But mainly the plant foods, but you are allowed to have meat.
How is exercise incorporated in the Blood Type diet?
On the blood type diet, there are different exercise prescriptions depending on your blood type. Type O should be engaging in more high intensity aerobic activity. Type A should be engaging in more spiritual activity like tai chi, yoga, and that sort of thing. Type B's should be engaging in moderate intense activity. The type AB's should be engaging in calming exercises.
