Celebrities And Hot Spots

Galina Liss (Galina Liss) gives expert video advice on: What makes celebrities go to a club or bar?; Is it okay to talk to a celebrity at a hot spot?; What should I do if a celebrity talks to me at a hot spot? and more...

What makes celebrities go to a club or bar?

Most clubs and bars will really take care of their celebrity clientele because that is a lot of free advertising for them. It brings in a lot of business for them and keeps their name and their place very exclusive. They'll go out of their way to make sure that everything is comped for the celebrity, and make sure that all of their security and bodyguards are taken care of. They might even have them go through a separate back entrance. They'll make sure that if they want a private table, they can have whatever table they want or of their choice. They can ensure their privacy. They can make sure, or try to make sure, that no one takes incriminating photos of them, although with today's technology you can get away with a lot of stuff.

Is it okay to talk to a celebrity at a hot spot?

If you're in a hot spot and you see a celebrity and you don't know them, maybe just smile. People in LA mostly know better not to go up to them and bother them and ask them stupid questions because they get that, I'm sure from tourists, all the time. They are usually good about keeping to themselves and behaving normally.

What should I do if a celebrity talks to me at a hot spot?

If a celebrity talks to you, just treat them like any other normal person - that's all that they are, and all they expect. I mean, they all put their pants on one leg at a time like you. They're just people.

Is there anything I should never do around a celebrity at a hot spot?

One thing to never do to a celebrity at a hot spot is run up to them and ask for their autograph. They are there to relax and have fun, not to be signing a million autographs. Some of them might take their picture with you if you ask them nicely, but mostly they don't want to be bothered. It would be best to just not approach them and let them have fun and be normal and go about their daily lives.
