TJ McClearin (Business Manager, Infinity Wireless, LLC) gives expert video advice on: What factors should I consider when choosing the best wireless headset? and more...

What is a "wireless headset"?

A wireless headset is an earpiece that utilizes Bluetooth technology, a local networking technology, that basically creates a partnership with one device to another, so you have a phone, you have a wireless headset, and they have unique identification numbers that only they know, and because of that, they talk to only each other, so you can have your phone in your pocket within thirty feet from you and have your earpieceof your wireless headset in your ear and carry on a conversation as you would if your phone was in your hand.

What factors should I consider when choosing the best wireless headset?

The most important thing is comfort, because if it's not comfortable you're never going to wear it, you'll lose it and then you paid one hundred dollars for a headset and you didn't get a chance to use it at all. Another thing that you're going to look at is battery life. If you're a high-level user and you talk on the phone a lot, you're going to want a headset that can at least match how much you're talking on the phone on average per day. Another thing to look at is noise cancellation. If you drive a convertible or if you like to drive with the windows down and you place a lot of calls while you're in your car, you want to look at a device that actually has noise cancellation built in to allow you to have clear conversations while you're on the road.

What is a "hand-wound" cell phone charger?

A hand-wound cell phone charger is basically a device that allows you to use the kinetic energy of your hand cranking this device and to create power. The power that's created, then, gives you at least enough juice to make a couple of phone calls, whether you're calling 911 or a family member. It's a good idea to have one around if you decide to buy a phone and keep it for emergency purposes only. In the event your car battery dies and your car charger's not working you have another way to power your phone in the event that you can't turn it on.
