Children And Fire
Mick Cumming (Fireman) gives expert video advice on: How can you keep your home safe from child-related fires?; If you're sleeping and you don't have a smoke alarm, how would you know there's a fire? and more...
If you're sleeping and you don't have a smoke alarm, how would you know there's a fire?
If you're asleep and there is a fire in the home, and you have smoke alarms fitted, the smoke alarm would activate. Hopefully you would hear the smoke alarm and exit the building. If you have no smoke alarms fitted and you are asleep, you can't smell when you are asleep. So you wouldn't be able to detect the fire at all. Probably the first thing you would know about it if a fire breaks out while you are asleep would be aspirating in the door and that is if you are lucky.
