What is higher education?
Higher education is made up of a range of courses for people above the age of eighteen who have perhaps had a taste of school or ‘A levels'. People choose to take a course in higher education if they see it as a progression before going into the workplace.
What types of course are available at university?
There are a range of different qualifications for higher education available to people at university. They include: access courses, foundation courses, degree courses and HNCs/HNDs. The length of courses do vary; they can range from to a year to four years, depending on the university you wish to go to and the course selected.
Should I choose a subject with the same title as the career I am interested in?
When choosing a higher education course, you don't necessarily need to choose the same subject as the career you are interested in. It is best to focus on a subject that holds your interest and that you are interested in pursuing.
Do institutions with the highest entry grades offer the best courses?
The university institutions with the highest entry requirements do not necessarily offer the best higher education courses. Ultimately, it comes down to your own personal idea and preference as to what the best course is, from what the course covers, along with location and other factors that may help you decide.
