How do I sign up to take the ACT?
You can sign up to take the ACT either by mail or by going on the ACT website.
How much time do I have do complete the entire ACT?
You have two hours and 55 minutes to complete the ACT, if you're just taking the ACT with the four subcomponents. If you decide to take the additional ACT writing test, that's another 30 minutes that you're going to want to spend in writing the essay. Keep in mind that with registration and breaks, you're going to be there for about four to four and a half hours.
At what point in my high school career should I take the ACT?
Most people take the ACT for the first time in the spring of their junior year. Then if they're going to repeat the ACT test they take it again in the fall of the senior year. Since there's that score choice option, there's really no disadvantage to taking the ACT test as many times as you think is necessary through your high school career to achieve the score that you're really looking for.
Are there accommodations available for students with disabilities?
Students with documented learning disabilities or physical disabilities are granted certain accommodations in terms of the amount of time they have to take the ACT test. Some students are granted the right to use a word processor or actually have a reader read the test to them.
