See it is not so much how much you spend on the date as much as the people you are with during the date. You know money today on dates; $80 for a nice dinner easy, movies $25 plus the snacks that is another $20. So right away you are kind of in the hole. If you really want to do it on a budget you would just go under your bed pull out the care package that your mama sent you, just eat some power bars on the couch, and maybe watch some campus TV. I like how they are very topical so they are always up on the current political events. I also think just walking around the campus, just making up stories about the people you run into from a distance, "Oh look…there is the homicidal bio teacher that always gives me good grades, but then kills beavers on the side, that is so unfortunate." Just mix things up and be creative and really money is going to be the last thing on your mind.

I think some of the affordable ways to make your date memorable is just to be very inventive and especially just use notes, like wherever you go, just use notes, like if it's a study date, put notes in the textbook. If it's like you're going out for Chinese food, I like to slip little fortunes into the fortune cookie, and she opens up and it says, you will have sex with me tonight. I'm like score!

The way to make her feel special without spending money involves the element of surprise. I kind of was slow in catching on to this. Because I always dressed up as a killer, like those killer in the Scream movies with the clock and everything and that really freaked her out. But anyway what we do now is we have actually a holiday. We kind of surprise ourselves with this holiday, like Evan and Kelly day where we go to Chuck E Cheese and then we have fun there. We crash a kid's birthday party because I'm cheap and everything. We're kind of like hanging out with this kid Timmy and I know the date he gets. His mom always reserves the place. And we just wait for the cake to be served and it's a good time. Also you just want to get little gifts for no reason at all. Just if you see a little thing like if I am going food shopping in the campus store, if I see a little bouquet of flowers or a little box of chocolates, it's like, "Bam! Surprise honey! Enjoy the little things that you never expected."

How cheap is too cheap when it comes to dating?

Cheap is 'too cheap' when you kind of do things you wouldn't do if you have money. Like if you have a date, usually I will not call my mom and have her go pick her up to bring her back to my house that may be a little low. If we're on a date I try not to steal change from homeless people, I feel that's real passé. But, you know, if I see a candy bar I want to get her, I'm tempted to use coupons, you know? It's good if it's like a two for one deal, but if you're piecing together like 30 cents off the salad, that you're going to prepare for yourself for her, it's not going to go over well. At least don't steal from homeless people, if anything.

Should I ask to borrow money for a date?

Should you ever borrow money for a date, that is for only special situations. Like if it's a really hot girl or if you really know that it's worth it. You can ask a friend, you can dig deep into your mom's credit card if you want. You could also gamble on sports. But, it's kind of once in a lifetime thing. You really don't want to make a habit out of it.

If the credit card is declined on a date you're in trouble because you can't really sugar-coat that. You pretty much have to ride away, call the credit card company, and plead with them or else you're in trouble. Whatever argument you can put forth to them like "come on man, Visa, she kicks really high" we've got to make this happen and, if all fails, after the date you just have to go back to the restaurant and do some dishes because you've got to make this date happen.
