Andy Kaufman was a stand-up comic, but he never liked to use that term. He considered himself an absurdist entertainer, so he found his humor in the absurd. He also, we know him from his time on "Taxi," doing almost 120 episodes as the foreign-speaking Lacta, who showed his range when he was allowed to do multiple personality disorders. After that show ended he continued with wrestling stunts, but to show the extent of his absurdist ideas, he did a wrestling stunt and supposedly broke his neck during one of these fights. He wore the neck brace for months in public, and he thought that was funny. It was found ten years after his death that he never really actually broke his neck. But towards the end of his life he was working on a script that would be the ultimate thing in showbiz history, for someone to actually fake their death, and then resurface. But he knew that the resurfacing in order to work would have to be ten, twenty, thirty years after it in order to really have some clout. He was working on a script about the subject at the time. So it was reported that he had cancer, some strange type of cancer that nobody had ever heard of, and then a year later his death certificate was issued. So actually, if Andy Kaufman is dead or alive still remains a mystery, and we're waiting for the resurfacing, which should be coming up, since the thirty year anniversary is approaching.
Why do some people think Jim Morrison is alive today?
Jim Morrison probably has the most conspiracy theories of any celebrity out there. There are a number of reasons why this occurred. Supposedly he died of a heroin overdose while submerged in a bathtub in a Paris apartment. Other reports said that he died in a club and six of his friends carried him to the apartment, so he could die there. The details of this is what makes it interesting. Supposedly he is buried in a famous French cemetery that no foreigners are allowed to be buried in. His grave was unmarked for three months, and the person that signed his death certificate cannot be found and the only one who supposedly witnessed his death, his girlfriend, had committed suicide shortly after. So no one actually viewed his dead body and to this day, people do sightings at his grave in France and see an aged hippie checking on the amount of flowers that are left on the tombstone everyday.

A celebrity might fake his death when the pressure on the performance and the other types of trials that go with always being on stage get too much. Which makes it logical when someone, like the big band leader Glen Miller, might have faked his death or Jim Morrison may have faked his death or even Andy Kaufman because it was part of their persona while they were alive to not really take the whole celebrity thing as seriously as everyone else was and their disappearance might be a way of their final last laugh at the whole thing of celebrity worship.
