Dos And Don'ts For Trousers
What are 'trousers'?
I really love trousers because trousers are a pant. They can be boot cut or wide leg and they are generally cotton. They are not a denim. They are a dressed up pant that you would wear to the office or to a party. I really love the idea of the wide leg trouser that's happening right now.
What should I look for in trousers?
How do I keep my trousers from becoming a fashion don't?
If they're too thin you don't want to have the panty line, so you want to make sure that you're wearing a thong. You want to make sure if you're petite, to wear a petite size.
How should trousers be hemmed?
It's really important to hem trousers correctly so that you get the most wear out of them, and that they look the best on you. So when you go to the tailor, first of all be friends with your tailor, really get a really good tailor. Keep the tailor in the family if you must. Go to the tailor with a pair of flats and a pair of heels that you would wear the trouser with, and make sure that they hem them to the top of your foot and again about a quarter inch off the back of the floor in the back. Obviously when you try them on at your tailor, they'll be able to pin them where necessary, but make sure that they're not too high because then they change the complete look of the pant.
