There are two forms of emergency contraception available. One is to take the morning after pill. The other is to have an intrauterine device inserted by a doctor.

What is an emergency pill?

An emergency pill is a hormonal form of contraception taken after sex. The emergency pill can be taken up to 72 hours after sex to help prevent pregnancies.

An emergency inter-uterine device (IUD) is the same as a regular inter-uterine device (IUD), except the emergency inter-uterine device (IUD) is inserted after having sex to help prevent pregnancies from occurring.
