How should I exercise to lose weight?
A weight loss program should include an exercise program, and the key is that you burn more calories on a daily basis than you take in to lose weight. How you burn those calories to lose weight is very variable, and has much more to do with your personal interests and your time -- how much time do you have to dedicate to exercise on a daily basis. But in general, the most efficient way to burn calories and lose weight is an aerobic exercise program in which you use the largest muscles in your body. For instance, your leg muscles are going to be the largest muscles. So riding a bike. Swimming is an excellent way to burn a higher number of calories in a short amount of time to lose weight. Running, walking or speed walking are also excellent to lose weight. Riding a bicycle, a spinning course. These use the large muscles in your leg, and per minute exercised, you will burn more calories, and help you lose weight.
How should I exercise if I'm overweight?
Very large, overweight people find it more difficult to participate in an exercise program, because they have more weight that they're trying to push around. The overweight are moving their bodies, but their bodies weigh a lot. And so exercise is much more challenging for overweight people, and it causes a higher workload on their heart. So for the overweight to start out in an exercise program, the program must start low. Low amounts of exercise, not too challenging, and they progressively increase the amount of exercise that they're doing. And doing this supervised by a therapist, or a physician, or a trainer would be an excellent idea.
How can excessive body weight lead to back pain?
Obese people can experience back pain. They have more weight that they're trying to move around in space and, so, when they're walking and they're pounding their bodies, there is more force being exerted from their body to the ground and back up from the ground. That pressure on the spine or the back is a lot higher, and therefore with people that are overweight part of the treatment is often weight loss. For their back pain, we would want them to lose weight. When they're doing surgery on a patient, there are many surgeons who do not want to perform back surgery on someone who is obesely overweight. Their risk factors regarding healing from the surgery, their spine healing, and not doing well are much higher.
