Guns are used for recreation and for defense.
What's the difference between a gun used for sport and a gun used for protection?
There's no difference between a gun that's used for protection and one that's used for recreation. In fact, many people keep themselves in practice in the event that they would need a gun for self-defense by shooting recreationally, because then they're doing target practice.
What are the most common types of guns?
I suspect the most common kind of gun in our country is a shotgun. It would be used for hunting, primarily, but it's also excellent for home defense and perhaps the second most common firearm would be the rifle. Again, used for target practice and for hunting.

A handgun is mainly advantageous because it is concealable and can be used to conceal from the vision of criminals so that they don't know who might be able to defeat them. Otherwise handguns are less powerful than long guns particularly rifles.

Rifle's are going to have a barrel that is approximately a foot and a half in length or longer, and will shoot bullets that are quite often much larger than a handgun.
What is a shotgun?
A shotgun has a wide barrel. It's usually at least a half an inch and that will enable it to fire either a number of pellets or even one large slug.
What are the most dangerous guns?
The most dangerous guns are the ones pointed at me that I don't control.
What is the safest gun?
The safest gun is one that is in my hand. So that I know exactly what is going to be done with it at all times.
Are guns cheap?
Guns are relatively inexpensive, particularly in this country. You find the price of guns going up in place like Washington, D.C., where they are illegal.
