What are the most common methods of home hair removal?
The most common way to remove hair at home is firstly shaving. We've all used the razor, so it's about applying the razor to whatever area that you would like to shave. Then there's waxing and there are many methods of waxing. There's hot waxing, there's sugaring, there's the hot wax that sets and then there's the strip wax. What you do is you apply the wax to your leg and then you pull it off and that pulls the hair at the roots. There's another method which is the depilatory method. That is applying the cream to your leg, waiting a few minutes and then just wiping it off. What that does is it dissolves the hair on the surface.
What is 'waxing'?
Waxing is a procedure that has been used for many, many years. Some waxes are made of beeswax, and this is the type of wax that actually sticks on the legs or on whatever area that it is applied to, and then it's removed without the strip. It's actually flicked off your legs. There's the strip wax and this particular wax is made of glucose, honey, molasses, sugar, water, and so on. It's a similar process; it is applied to the area hot and a paper strip or a cloth strip is then used and it pulls off with the hair.
What is 'sugaring'?
Sugaring is a hair removal method that's commonly used on Middle Eastern women. To make the product, it's really very simple. Women do it in their own home. It's about mixing sugar and water and lemon juice and boiling it to a point where it becomes thick, and then they have to cool it down, obviously. What they do with this product is that they play with it. I watched my mother using the sugar and how she turned the sugar into a dough; she would kneed it in her hand and she would then apply it to the leg or whatever part of the body that she wanted to have hair-free.
What is 'gelling'?
Gelling is a new hair removal method, and it's the next evolution of waxing, from the original sugaring method. I am proud to say that I started the gelling method with the Nads Hair Removal product. It is called gelling because it looks like a gel. It's a green goo. It's made of 100% natural products, natural ingredients, such as fructose, molasses, sugar, honey, water - you name it. The gel is water soluble, it doesn't harm your skin and it doesn't require heating. That is the difference between gelling, sugaring and waxing.
What is a 'depilatory'?
Depilatory products are made of chemicals, and they come in the form of lotion or a cream that you can apply to your skin. You leave it on for a few minutes - long enough to dissolve the hair - but make sure that you don't leave it on too long, because otherwise you will get irritation and rash from it. Then what you do is you wipe it off.
Why can't I just shave?
You can just shave if you like. It's the easiest method of hair removal. However, you can get nicks, you can get cuts and you can get in-growing hairs with shaving. The choice is yours. You can shave or you can use other hair removal methods.
Whats the fastest way to remove hair?
For me, the fastest way to remove hair is Nads. However, for an average person, obviously shaving is the fastest way of hair removing.
