Tips & Comments
Hepatitis C is not sexually transmitted. This kind of misinformation is extremely unhelpful. People need to know the facts. HCV is a blood-borne virus most commonly contracted from surgical instruments, blood transfusions, kidney dialysis, dental surgery, tattooing, manicuring and body piercing. Misleading videos such as this one stigmatize HCV as a "druggie" disease. This is wrong. You cannot get HCV from drugs. Although intravenous drug users who share needles can catch HCV, they are, in societal terms, a very small subgroup. Latest research from University of Southampton indicates approximately one million people in Britain are now infected with the HCV virus.
