Galina Liss (Galina Liss) gives expert video advice on: What is a 'dive'?; What makes a dive hot?; Do celebrities really go to dives? and more...
What is a 'dive'?
A “dive bar” is normally a little hole-in-the-wall bar that people like to go to because they don't have to deal with the door person, promoter or any other door issues. They can just walk right in the bar, and have a drink. It's very relaxing. They don't need “the scene.” They can go with friends and they're not going to be hassled. There's no dress code.
What makes a dive hot?
What makes a dive hot is just, again, people. If someone walked into a dive bar with 20 girls because they didn't want to buy a table in Hollywood or whatever, and they didn't want to be hassled, then that group might make that dive bar hot because you have that many attractive women in one space. Now the next night might be a different story.
Do celebrities really go to dives?
I would say some celebrities like to go to dive bars, because they don't like to be hassled. They just generally want to hang out in a normal place and get a drink and just live normally.
What should I wear to a dive?
You can wear whatever you want at a dive. You could wear your pyjamas, for God's sake, and it would be fine.
Is there anything I shouldn't do at a dive?
Don't do anything illegal at a dive bar. Otherwise, have fun!
